all i wanted was a skateboard

it’s meme time. this is a variation on the classic ‘google yourself‘ meme. i’m using it to create my christmas list!

things that google returns for “lee needs”:

  1. fresh challenge
  2. love
  3. hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend himself
  4. to get match fit
  5. to muster the political courage and vision to tackle these issues

okay, so amazon.com wishlist, it’s not.

i hope you’ve all been reading my back-dated greece updates, i’ve only got four or five more left and then i’ll post a nice roll-up link so you can click through all of them more easily. martin also promised to eventually find web hosting for his photos.

katharine’s photos!

katharine has done a fantastic thing and posted some of her finest photos here. i’ve gone ahead and mirrored them as well.

i’ll be linking them into my journal entries as well so you can get some more good shots, katharine definitely took alot more photos than me and has some really brilliant ones. she also has some swell photos featuring yours truly. yeah, i didn’t shave in greece.

also on the meta front i’ve modified the greece category to display only one entry per page and in chronological order. hopefully this will make it easier to read and make sense of.

i hope that you find mercy when you find that i’m not clever

in no particular order i present twenty-one reasons to see eleven different local seattle bands:

  1. the brandon ghorley project: the apology song, wooaah and their crazy awesome drummer.
  2. the republic: features two goughs, and a lovely song called second chance.
  3. optimus rhyme: they played my house and have a song about being a robotic transforming taxi cab driver.
  4. john tsnuam: he’s a sushi chef by day, rapper by night, asian delight. he’s not too intelligent, but extremely resourceful.
  5. mercir: zadok is a pretty cool guy even if we never did succeed in playing pickup soccer. the dynamics on the beach are almost flawless though.
  6. tennis pro: they flip off the crowd (and get it in return) while singing the 2nd chorus to taking your mom home tonight (she has low self-esteem).
  7. argo: all you do is all for you, unless you’re john wooster – who looks old, is young, and has a thing for maria cantwell. they also played my house.
  8. u.s.e. united state of electronica: you’ve probably heard of them, and rightfully so – even while making thumping beats, johnny rock can take it to the bridge.
  9. yesan damen features danny kwak and a string quartet including arick gouwerok. though i haven’t heard any of this new stuff, i recommend it on the basis of his last outing.
  10. & 11. super deluxe and harvey danger used to be common names on commercial radio, and though even i haven’t seen them yet i’d say they’re still making knockout songs.
