fuck the biz, it’s for the kids

when i said jerry is one of the coolest people i have ever met, i should have perhaps been more clear. the man is ice cold awesome. one of the most compelling examples of this is the gamer-oriented charity, child’s play. now in it’s third year, the idea is to get toys and games for sick kids in hospitals. it started off supporting our very own children’s hospital here in seattle, and now has amazon wish lists for fifteen different hospitals in the usa, canada, and great britain.

the simplicity of this mission – kids are sick, let’s try to take care of them – is so clear in it’s delivery. i’m still awed by the photos from the first year of the container truck full of toys unloading at the hospital. it’s such a simple thing to help, what would the world be like if we all did something?

penny arcade on blogging
so, jerry made it into forbes. how strange is that? i’d have expected tiresome exposition monthly, but he is the funniest man ever. mental drama continues, but hopefully i’ll take a break from going mad at some point here. i’d hate to be too much of a stereotypical blogger. we are starting a new d&d campaign this weekend, and i’d like to ante up with a short work of fiction to stretch the creative muscles.

all i wanted was a skateboard

it’s meme time. this is a variation on the classic ‘google yourself‘ meme. i’m using it to create my christmas list!

things that google returns for “lee needs”:

  1. fresh challenge
  2. love
  3. hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend himself
  4. to get match fit
  5. to muster the political courage and vision to tackle these issues

okay, so amazon.com wishlist, it’s not.

i hope you’ve all been reading my back-dated greece updates, i’ve only got four or five more left and then i’ll post a nice roll-up link so you can click through all of them more easily. martin also promised to eventually find web hosting for his photos.
